scott pilgrim said this, almost shocked, as he was talking to his room/bedmate one afternoon. in the movie that was filmed in toronto. and for once, set here too.
they like films in this city. not only is is a hub for filming movies and tv shows, but it’s a city known for it’s big big film festival. and then there’s all the film screenings (at the cinematheque, the national film board, and all the independent cinemas around the city).i have really strong memories of films i’ve seen in this city, in the past times i’ve visited or lived here, and more recently as i would take myself out to the cinematheque, or the bloor cinema, or try to find the megaplexes around town. solo outings, potential dates, trips with friends, the movies make it all happen.
the toronto international film festival starts this week, and whilst i may be almost half way through PhD, i can’t for the life of me work out how to buy tickets. this will be my mental and physical challenge for the next week, one i’m looking forward to.
