Likewise, in my work I’m not searching for an origin, or the descent of zines, or archives. Instead, like Foucault suggests, I’m dismantling the ‘traditional devices for constructing a comprehensive view of history and for retracing the past as a patient and continuous development’ (1984, 88) by presenting a series of archival spaces without linearity or status. My research practice works to disrupt a traditional epistemological approach, and the sites I am investigating are also disrupting traditional archival and memory making practices.
sometimes i spend too much time in front of the screen, reading the same words over and over again, unable to move past them. happy with what’s there and feeling like there’s no need to say anymore. today i will move past, birth the words i need (to quote natalya) and get this paper done. and then some.
